Penang...Sirih Pulang ke Gagang...

Salam...2 weeks ago, me, hubby, mom, Sarah and Hakim went to Tok's house in Permatang Pauh, Penang...We were so happy to get back to Penang again and see our beloved Tok....Mom, me and Hakim were born in Penang...hehe..We went there on Saturday and went back to KL on Monday...

On the first day of arrival, nothing much to be done...We went to my aunt's house in Kulim, Kedah guided by Cik Mah (Mom's youngest sister)...On the way to Kulim, mom ask Cik Mah to take us to her old school...Convent Bukit Mertajam (her primary school) and Convent Kulim (her secondary school)...We also went to her grandmother or our ancestor's house in Kulim...We just saw the house from outside only...hehe...This was where mom and all her siblings grew up when my late grandfather (Megat Hashim) pursued his studies in University of Malaya...This is the pic of the house...yg tinggal kat situ skrg ni adalah saudara jauh....

Tok is a Siamese and she was adopted by her aunt (mom's grandma) who's also a Siamese and married to an Arabian man...So, my mom is half Siamese...and me, quarter Siamese...hahaha...

On the second day, I took Sarah and Hakim to visit Penang Island...pusing satu pulau...Thanks to hubby's GPS...we didn't get lost at all...hehe...Mom wanted to bring my siblings to Feringhi beach...but to our astonishment, they weren't many people there...don't know why...at first we planned to stop there but then we cancelled the plan...We moved further to Telok Bahang...after seeing a food stall and noticing that there were few cars stopping there, we decided to go to the beach...still there weren't so many people there...according to mom, last time, all the beaches were so crowded with people...takpelah...janji dpt pegi pantai...hehe...

After that, hubby wanted to go to his old school...MRSM Balik Pulau...and again, thanks to the GPS...hubby was so happy to step his foot there once again after a few years...hehe...he was so surprised to see his class has been changed to a computer lab...kuikui...saye telah menjadi jurugambar yg setia..snapping all his pics...hehe...kasi chance la kan..:p...

After that, we went back to Seberang Perai (Tok's house)...we had our lunch at one of the stall at Bandar Perda..lauk banyak...harga pun murah...hehe...after arriving at Tok's home, Cik Mah was ready to take us to my cousin's house in Sungai Petani...but I was so tired at that time..plus my head kept thinking about my thesis that need to be corrected and finalized...wanted to submit it asap since I wanna catch the senate meeting in June as I mentioned in my previous entries...hehe...so, only mom, tok, cik mah and uncle zali went to SP...

Waktu mlm tu, kami borak2 dgn tok...umur tok dah nak dkt 80...tapi masih sihat mcm dulu...baca surat khabar...favourite tv programme, mestila berita...same mcm my late grandfather...tok cerita itu, cerita ini...sampai nak dkt pukul 2 lebih...hehe...then we off to bed...:-)...

On our last day there, mom bought our long time favourite breakfast...nasi lemak ikan bilis and ikan masin 60 sen...wuwuwu...dah lame tak mkn...all my cousins love this nasi lemak too...mak also cooked for lunch...plus, tok masak!!!...rindunye nak makan masakan tok...tok masak kari ikan keli...lepas tu, kami pun rehat2 tgk tv (mereka sahaja...saye menghadap laptop siapkn keje)...huhu...

We made our move at 4 pm...sebelum gerak, kami bergambar2 dulu dkt halaman umah...rindunye zaman kanak2 dulu berlari2 kat kwsn halaman umah yg agak luas gak la...

After that, we headed to my parents in law's house in Ipoh...satu setengah jam je jauhnye..for sure nanti bile balik Ipoh, kami akan pi lawat tok...rindunyee...ni la waktu nak berbakti kepada Tok semula...May Allah bless my Tok always...We love her so much...(^_^)v...

Tioman Island...Part 2...

Salam...this entry is the continuation from the previous one...I have to post this asap since I have lotsa stories to tell...hehe...yesterday was a veryyy sweet day for me, jehan and farah...can't wait to post a new entry on that later...:-D...

Ok...that's all the story about our trip to Tioman Island...sebenarnye tak larat nak upload pics byk2...susah sikit kan nak adjust kat blog nih...huhuh...hari ni me and hubby nak buat gotong-royong kemas rumah...hehehe...weekdays kan busy je dua2..so arini je la ade mase...:-D...Ok, till then...Tata...

Tioman Island Part 1...

Salam all...i feel that it has been a long time since my last entry...hehehe...so today, on a peaceful Wednesday morning, i wish to write up something on my 'vacation' to Tioman Island...

I went to Tioman Island last Thursday...this was Tenth College activity so all the MTM (Majlis Tertinggi Mahasiswa) and all the staffs were going there...we headed to Mersing jetty since we needed to take a ferry to go to Tioman Island...

In the bus

At around 8.45 p.m., we departed for Mersing by UPM buses...wehehe..dah lame tak naik bas UPM...dulu same dgn kwn2...skrg dgn suami...:p...we arrived at Mersing jetty at 1.30 a.m...after going thru such a challenging journey...huhuh...the bus driver took the Bukit Putus-Kuala Pilah-Muadzam Shah-Mersing route...jalan lama!!!!...jalan dekat Bukit Putus tu, ya ampunnnn...berpusing2..ade yg nearly 360 degree tau!...cuakk je semua org...huhuhu...ramai jugak yg pening2 kepala sbb bas melantun2...just imagine the conditions of the roads...amatla sempit dan tak sekata...despite all the challenges, we managed to arrive at the jetty..alhamdulillah...:-)...

At Mersing Jetty

We went to Tioman Island by ferry at 3 a.m. in the morning and arrived there at 5 a.m..sepanjang 2 jam tu, semua org tido..sebab tak dpt tido sepanjang dlm bas...almaklumla mcm naik roller coaster kan...although i dont know how it feels like naik roller coaster since i'm penakut!!!...haha...

The first place yg berpenghuni kat pulau tu is Kampung Genting...chalet kami terletak kat Kampung Genting...tempat lain mcm Pulau Tekek, semua jauh lagi...dlm 20 minutes jarak melalui laut...sesampainye kat Kampung Genting, hujan renyai2 menyambut kedatangan kami (cewahh ayat)...dah hampir subuh dah waktu tu...keadaan amatla gelap...tapi dlm kegelapan tu, tetap nmpk kejernihan air laut tu di bawah sinaran bulan sepanjang kami berjalan atas jambatan di jeti tu...bayangkan betapa jernihnye air laut tu...:-)...

Kami menginap di Genting Bayu Chalet...mula2 masa dah jejak darat, ingatkan terus sampai chalet..but the first building yg kami nmpk was Balai Raya Kampung Genting in front of us and Klinik Desa Kampung Genting...where is the chalet??? semua budak2 dah tanye2 sesama sendiri...yg dah penah smpai kat situ is Dr.Azlizam (pengetua kolej 10)....he told us that we need to walk 500m from there to the chalet...what???..setengah kilo tu berjalan...maka berkilo2 la kalori yg terbakar...lucky us (me and my hubby) for packing our stuffs in a backpack...kalau yg bawak beg roda ala2 akademi fantasia tu, mmg 'selamat' la...hehe...kena lalu jalan kecik...kawasan yg berhutan...titi kecik...semua tu dilalui dlm keadaan yg samar2...ada lampu sikit je sepanjang jalan...bayangkan...agak horror gak la waktu tu...hehe...

At last we managed to arrive at the chalet...lepas dah diberi brief expalanations and given the room key, all of us went to our rooms, solat subuh and tido terus...i decided not to go for breakfast at 8 a.m. since i prefer sleeping to eating...hehe...so we woke up at 12.30 p.m....puasla tido...mandi and went for lunch...bile dah siang baru la nmpk keseluruhan...although the chalet was not grand as other chalets or resorts or hotels, but the facilities were sufficient...it nestles in the humbleness of Kampung Genting...very2 basic and simple place to live in...I kept thinking how does it feels to live in this place...hmmm...

Btw, maxis langsung takde coverage kat situ...yg ade hanye Celcom saje...full bar lagi...Digi Bersamamu pun takde line!!!...haha...i can't stand the situation where my handphone is not 'functioning'...i kept babbling to hubby on how i can't live without my handphone functioning for 3 days until Sunday...huhu...at last I asked one of the village girl who works at the chalet where can i get a Celcom simpack...haha...rupenye kat kedai depan sekali sebelah Balai Raya...malam semalam tak nmpk mcm ade kedai pun kat situ...semua tutup kan pukul 5 pagi...hehe...

Tgh berjalan2, nmpk motor SpongeBob ni...so cute!

So hubby pun teman la jalan kaki ke kedai to buy the simpack..hehe...baru la nmpk kwsn tu keseluruhan...hehe...mmg kecik je laluan...kereta mmg takde langsung kat situ...motosikal je ade...kami pun beli la makanan ringan sikit, tgk2 souvenirs kat kedai and balik chalet..

The first day there weren't much activities to do...hubby went for snorkelling with the students and staffs..and isteri2 dudukla bersembang di tepi pantai..hehe...rase mcm pelik la...dulu mase student bole la buat perangai budak2...tapi sebab dah kawin, kena behave la...baru la sedar yg i'm getting older...hehe..wlpn ade je budak2 K10 yg lagi tua dari kami, tapi tetap ade perbezaan since we're married and budak2 tu still bujang...hehe...

Lepas tu ade sukaneka utk budak2...bukan anak staff ye...tapi budak2 K10...hehe...diorg sgtla happening...seronok je tgk....semua lelaki and sgtla bising menceriakan keadaan...:-)..tergelak jugak tgk diorg...they should enjoy that beautiful moment together...sbb bila dah graduate nanti, keadaan dah lain sikit...hehe...

Waktu mlm, lepas dinner ade opening ceremony...lepas tu saye pun balikla bilik...all the students still ade aktiviti diorg sendiri...i chose to sleep early since we will be going for island hopping on the next day..yeehaa...:p..

I will post a new entry on the island hopping later...need to do some house chores and baca journal...petang nanti nak pegi office jap...KPM's external examiner dtg from USA..Prof. Dr. Daryl B. Lund...I'm so excited to meet him!!!..till then ya...tata...

Cherating...The Story...

Hello all...i'm back from Cherating...not much to tell...my hubby attended a writing course and i did my writing too...journal writing...baru half je...hehe...at the same time,i've checked a thesis draft of undergraduate final year project...memberangsangkan jugak diriku ini berkerja...department lain punye course,i pulak yg berjaye buat keje...

The first day we arrived there, we was so shocked to see the renovation process carried out at the lobby area...gosh...really demotivated at first...then i asked whether the hotel has spa treatment there,but the manager told me this hotel was under renovation and the spa was closed...huhuhuhu...tak tercapai impian nak ke spa...but maybe this is a good sign for me to finish up my writing without any distractions...hehe...btw, the sea view was superb!!!

We didn't have much activities on the 1st day...hubby went out for swimming with his colleagues and I stayed in my room watching TV...by 6 p.m., i was so starving...there was no food in the room...try to find the hotel menu but was unable to find it..huhu...so i just waited patiently for hubby to come back...at 7.30 p.m., hubby finished his activity and both of us got ready to have our dinner together with other colleagues at 8.30 p.m...the dinner was great...we ate at 'kedai ikan bakar'...basically it's a seafood restaurant...kami makan dengan semangatnye ikan siakap,udang dan sotong...yumyum...at 10 p.m. they had a briefing and i waited for my hubby at the lobby area while surfing the internet...I have met a new friend there...her name is Kak Az...she is Dr.Tuah's wife...and she just got back from liverpool...we had a nice chat that evening about life and family planning...hehe...Then, after all the staffs of the Dept.of Mechanical Eng. finished their briefing session, we all went to our room and SLEEP la...penat gile travel for 4 hours...

On the 2nd day,we had our breakfast at 7.15 a.m...Then hubby went to the seminar room and I did my own work at the resort's cafe...at first i tried to eat all the foods available there...but after i felt like getting 'gemoks', then i stopped...hehe...the surrounding was so peaceful that i can concentrate on my writing...i started to write from the design construction part...extracted from my thesis...but it was not as easy as it sounds...i have changed the structure of the word so it will look different from my thesis...saje2 je seronok nak merumitkan kerja yg senang..hehe...

At 12.30 p.m., all of us had our lunch at the same cafe...after filling our stomach with lotsa delicious foods, me and hubby strolled along the beach...aziz (hubby's friend) was with us too...hehe...around 1 p.m.,we got back to our room and tido...hehe...

At 5.30 p.m., hubby wanted to play water polo with his colleagues and i followed him to the swimming pool...

At 8.30 p.m, all of us had our special dinner together near the beach...the atmosphere was so good...and the foods were delicious too...:-)...

On the 3rd day, after having my breakfast, i continued to do my work...i decided to read the thesis draft of an undergraduate student...i love the environment at the cafe...maybe because i love the table runner...very english looking...hehe...it made my brain works twice more effective than it used to be...hehe...i'm feeling like buying one...a table runner with checked patterns might suits our dining table at home..hehe...(^_^)v...

Btw...the orange colour thing on the table is my 'bekal makanan'...hehe..i bought it from one of my colleague...brand: Tupperware...hehe...really cute...it comes together with 2 food containers and also a fork and a spoon...and all are in orange colour...heheheh....i have put some foods inside the containers so that i'll have something to eat during our journey back to KL...hehe...

Ok...we headed to KL at 1 p.m...and arrived safely at 5.30 p.m...alhamdulillah...this was a really enjoyable moment..i wish there will be other occasions like this in the future...
